It's not only that the kernels are mature, Merkeley, but....

The tassels have to get almost like hair blowing in the wind.

That's how it was explained to me last night.

I kept trying to peek under the leaves, exposing the kernels to the 90 degree heat, a no-no.

I would guess another week until the bag shows up on the doorstep from Santa Corn.

Kinders' update= chicken parmesan sausages grilled, then sliced over a spinach salad with a sweet dressing and some tiny chunks of mozzarella. Olive pugliese with lots of olive oil and a few drops of balsamic for dipping......

The Chico Criterium has a olive oil sponsor.

Maybe these beauties will help me snag a bottle.
Altough judging by my performance on recent group rides, perhaps bringing a couple twenties along would ensure I come home with the groceries...:-)

Lodestar, huh? I'll have to keep an eye out...

Didn't realize there was so much moolah in that race! I may just have to change some plans & head to Chico for a weekend.

like hair blowing in the wind...a little to romantic for this Iowa boy but whatever floats your boat. Just don't wait too long because when the sugar turns to starch corn changes from human food to pig food.

Ya, I'm a corn snob.

Nice shoes, they're sure to make you go fast ;).

Unfortunately, gonna miss Chico. Two big birthdays to celebrate that weekend...a first double digit and a mid-sexagenarian.

PAB, thats like 8 weeks away.Plenty of time to rehab if your stars align on this one, and get back to your normal visigoth plains self.
Because that weeekend is made for flatlanders, the classics riders.
The folks that salivate over gutterfest.
Elf- I don't know anything about it, but it sounds good.
And Merkle- your way more romantic than your letting on....
Nice to see the priorities in order.

though we're in colorado celebrating some birthday described by a vocabulary word which only the romantic merkeley can explain, we're all for bringing home the groceries from chico!
